The Catholic University of America is committed to sustainability.

As stewards charged with advancing the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic University of America's Sustainability Plan sets the foundation for the University's commitment to improving the environmental well-being of the campus and the greater community. The initiatives and actions throughout the plan will generate positive environmental change, promote education and research, preserve resources, raise awareness, reduce expenditures, generate exciting dialogue, and create new community engagement opportunities.

The 2026 Move Out Donation Drive will be April 30th - May 14th!

At the end of every semester, Catholic University hosts a move out donation drive for students to donate items they do not want to take home with them over the summer. These items are collected and offered back to students for free in Cardinal Closet and during the annual Reuse Market every August.

    How to Donate:

    • Clothing & small items: Starting April 30th, donation bins will be located in every laundry room on campus.
    • Large items: On May 8th & 9th, drop items off at the donation stations in the CV Basketball Court and in between Flather and Opus.

Volunteers are essential to this effort - to volunteer to make the Move Out Donation Drive a success, sign up to volunteer here.
