Catholic University's staff and faculty are critical to achieving the University's sustainability goals. There are a variety of ways for staff and faculty to get involved in sustainability efforts on campus.

• Sustainability Captains

  Sustainability Captains are staff and faculty members in each building on campus who serve as their building's liaison to the Office of Campus Sustainability. The goal of the Sustainability Captains program is to develop a network of sustainability leaders across campus to advance sustainability initiatives.

• Faculty Connect and Collaborate

  A space for collaborators to connect and discuss CUA's ongoing response to Laudato Si's call. How are we forming our students with knowledge, skills, and character to respond to this call? How are we modeling eco awareness and sustainability in action? How might we support one another and continue to deepen our responses in innovative ways? Come, gather, and share!

• Green Office Certification

  Catholic University's Green Office Certification program kicks off on Sept. 1, 2023! Review the Green Office checklist and submit it to sustainability@cua.edu to request certification.

• Community Garden

  The on-campus community garden provides a space for all community members to garden together and grow produce for Cardinal Cupboard, the on-campus food pantry. All students, staff, and faculty members are welcome!

• Cardinal Closet

  Cardinal Closet is Catholic University’s on-campus free thrift store located in Gibbons B17. The Closet carries women’s and men’s clothing in all sizes, and includes business, causal, athletic, formal, and maternity clothes, and more. All students, staff, and faculty members are welcome!

• Sustainability Tours

  Join Office of Campus Sustainability staff on a guided campus tour. Tours cover a range of topics from our solar panels to our power plant building, so there is something for everyone!
