Facilities Maintenance and Operations (FMO) provides central services for all departments in the Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) group as well as coordination of all the maintenance and operations functions of the individual FMO departments.

  • Facilities Service Center: Business Services and Call Center

    Facilities Maintenance and Operations (FMO) operates the Facilities Services Center in the Power Plant and provides a consolidated help desk for all Facilities Service requests and components of the University’s administrative operations including budget preparation and tracking, work order tracking, project approval tracking, contractor compliance requirements, review of the Facilities operations budget submissions, and central project financial control.  In addition, the Facilities Services Center is the check-in station for all contractors and vendors working on facilities projects or service contracts.

    Work to be completed by the appropriate Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) department can be submitted to the Facilities Service Center via our work ticket system by clicking the Facilities Requests link here (fmo/requests) or in the margin to the right.  Please make sure you include all the necessary information, including a contact phone number or email so we can reach you if there is a question.

    Any requests requiring immediate attention should be called in to the Facilities Service Center at x5121. 

  • Buildings and Grounds Maintenance

    Buildings and Grounds Maintenance provides emergency, preventive, and routine maintenance to all campus buildings and maintains campus grounds year-round.

    Emergency Maintenance is work required to eliminate imminent hazards to life, health, and safety; to prevent damage to equipment or property; to restore security; or to prevent disruption of an essential activity.

    Preventive Maintenance is the systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects.

    Routine Maintenance is the recurrent, day-to-day, periodic or scheduled work required to preserve a facility from failure and decline or to restore a facility to good working condition.

  • HVACR Maintenance and Plant Operations

    HVACR Maintenance and Plant Operations maintains and operates the Central Utility Plant in the Power Plant that supplies heating and cooling to the campus and provides emergency, preventive, and routine maintenance to the mechanical systems in individual buildings.

  • Fleet Maintenance

    Fleet Maintenance maintains the the vehicles and equipment used by Facilities Maintenance and Operations.

  • Custodial and Special Events Services

    Custodial Services provides cleaning services for all campus buildings on a scheduled basis for each building area. Special custodial services, including minor moving and those requested outside of routine work hours, are very limited. Advance notice to determine availability is requested on a Routine Service Request form. 

    Special Events/Space Reservations must be scheduled and approved by the Office of Events and Conference Services by visiting their website, conferences.cua.edu. A representative from their department will then work with you to submit the necessary forms to Facilities Services, Technology Services and any other campus service that may be needed.
