Catholic University offers students a variety of ways to get involved in sustainability efforts on campus - from academics to student organizations to finding new ways to live a more sustainable life. Check out the opportunities below to get involved on campus!

• Community Garden

  The on-campus community garden provides a space for all community members to garden together and grow produce for Cardinal Cupboard, the on-campus food pantry. All students, staff, and faculty members are welcome!

• Cardinal Closet

  Cardinal Closet is Catholic University’s on-campus free thrift store located in Gibbons B17. The Closet carries women’s and men’s clothing in all sizes, and includes business, causal, athletic, formal, and maternity clothes, and more. All students, staff, and faculty members are welcome!

• SGA's Environmental Initiative

  Student Government Association's Environmental Initiative brainstorms and executes ideas on how to make Catholic University more environmentally sustainable.

• Environmental Club

  Environmental Club is dedicated to demonstrating the efficiency, effectiveness, and importance of sustainability through interdisciplinary educational programs, service opportunities, and engagement.

• American Conservation Coalition

  ACC seeks to activate young people that are tired of partisan inaction on the grassroots, state, and federal levels -- bringing forth prosperous action on environmental issues that impact us all.

• CUAdventures

  CUAdventures strives to enrich the health of the student body through monthly weekend day hikes to local natural areas, as well as occasional meetings and other outdoor excursions.

• Work Study

  The Office of Campus Sustainability offers work study positions during the academic year. If you are interested in working on our team, check out Handshake at the start of each semester for job listings.

• Sustainability Tours

  Join Office of Campus Sustainability staff on a guided campus tour. Tours cover a range of topics from our solar panels to our power plant building, so there is something for everyone!

• Academics

  Students at Catholic University can pursue a Sustainability Minor or degrees in disciplines related to sustainability and the environment such as Environmental Chemistry or Environmental Engineering.
